A glow run to raise awareness and earnings for support for Kruz Davenport and his Family. The race will take place the night of October 8, as we run in the dark and glow throughout Wilson Park and University of North Alabama. You may choose to enjoy a 1 mile walk or a 5k run.
The first annual Parlor 217 Glow Run will be held this year on October 8, 2016 in Florence at Wilson Park. Our earnings from this event will be given to a local family in need (Kruz Davenport & Family). In order to ensure the success of this very important fundraiser, we are seeking sponsor fee and any additional contributions to help defray the cost associated with the event, so that all funds raised can go directly to the family. Sponsor fee is $25 or $40 with a runner. Generous donors like you are the key to our success with this event. You make it possible for our community to provide help with local support to help us raise money for kruz and his Family. This Race will feature glow painting, live music, and a 1 mile walk or 5k run. We will walk and run through out McFarland Park during the night to raise awareness for the genetic disease called Schimke Immuno-Ossesous Dysplasia (SIOD). this is a very rare form or dwarfism; there are only 45 known cases in the world and Kruz happens to be one of those. His family is joining up with the research teams and the Little Giants Foundation, ( www.Littlegiantsfoundation.blogspot.com ). This research offers big promises and could prolong Kruz's life and the life of other SIOD patients. Please join us for a great community event for this sweet family.
